Terms of Use
The short version: TapBill is a tool for making and sending estimates, invoices and receipts. What goes on them, and whether they meet the rules where you work, is up to you. Your first three invoices are free; TapBill Pro is a subscription billed by Apple that you can cancel at any time. Be decent, don't abuse the service, and we will keep it running for you.
1. The agreement
These terms are a contract between you and Or Barda, trading as TapBill ("TapBill", "we"). By creating an account or using the TapBill app or website (the "Service") you agree to them and to our Privacy Policy. If you use TapBill for a business, you confirm that you are allowed to bind that business, and "you" means the business too.
2. Your account
You sign in with Apple and must be at least 16 years old and able to form a contract. Keep your Apple ID secure: everything done through your account is treated as done by you. One account holds one business. Tell us at once if you believe someone else has access to it.
3. Free plan and TapBill Pro
The free plan lets you finalize and send three invoices, for life, with no card required; estimates and receipts are unlimited and free forever. Every document carries a small "Made with TapBill" line in its footer. Your three free invoices stay live and editable after you reach the limit; only sending a fourth invoice needs Pro.
TapBill Pro is an auto-renewing subscription that removes the invoice limit and unlocks every feature described in the app at the time you subscribe. We may add features to Pro over time; we will not remove the core one (unlimited invoices) from an active subscription without notice.
4. Billing, trials and cancellation
- Pro is sold through the App Store and billed to your Apple ID. Apple's price in your local currency is shown before you confirm. We never see your payment details.
- The subscription renews automatically at the end of each period (monthly or yearly) unless you cancel at least 24 hours before it ends. Apple charges the renewal within 24 hours before the period ends.
- Where a free trial is offered, it converts to a paid subscription at the end of the trial unless you cancel before then. Apple decides trial eligibility (usually one per Apple ID).
- Manage or cancel in iOS Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions. Deleting the app or your TapBill account does not cancel the subscription.
- Refunds are handled by Apple under its rules; request one at reportaproblem.apple.com. Unused time after cancellation is not refunded; Pro stays active until the end of the paid period.
- We may change the price of Pro. Apple will notify you and ask you to agree before a higher price applies to a renewal.
5. Your content
You own everything you put into TapBill: your business details, clients, documents, photos and signatures ("Content"). You give us a licence to store, process, render and transmit your Content only as needed to provide the Service to you, for example to generate a PDF, sync it between your devices and email it to the client you choose. The licence ends when you delete the Content or your account, except for copies in backups, which we clear within 30 days.
Documents you send remain with your recipients. We cannot recall an email or a WhatsApp message once it has gone.
6. Your responsibilities
TapBill formats documents. It does not give tax, legal or accounting advice, and it does not know the rules of your trade or jurisdiction. You are responsible for:
- the accuracy of every document you issue, including prices, tax rates, tax labels, your tax identification number and your licence details;
- meeting the invoicing, record-keeping and consumer-protection requirements that apply to your business (for example, which fields a tax invoice must carry, how long you must keep records, and whether you may charge the tax you charge);
- having the right to use your clients' contact details and to collect their signatures;
- keeping your own copies. TapBill lets you export PDFs and CSV at any time; do so regularly, as you would back up any business record.
Signatures captured in TapBill are an electronic record that a named person signed on your device at a recorded time. Whether that record is binding for a particular purpose depends on the laws that apply to you.
7. Acceptable use
You may not use TapBill to:
- issue invoices for goods or services you did not provide, or documents intended to deceive a recipient or an authority;
- send unsolicited bulk messages, or email people who have asked you not to;
- upload content that is unlawful, infringing, hateful or malicious, or that contains other people's data you have no right to use;
- probe, overload, reverse-engineer or interfere with the Service or its security, or access it by any means other than the app and interfaces we provide;
- resell or sublicense the Service, or use it to build a competing product.
We may remove content or suspend an account that breaks these rules, and we will tell you why unless the law prevents it.
8. The service
TapBill works offline and syncs when it has a connection. We aim for the Service to be available at all times but do not guarantee it; maintenance, provider outages and events outside our control can interrupt it. Email delivery depends on the recipient's mail server and we cannot guarantee that a message is received or read. "Viewed" events, where available, show that a link was opened, not who opened it.
We may change, add or retire features. If we discontinue TapBill altogether we will give you at least 60 days' notice and time to export your documents.
9. Intellectual property
The TapBill app, website, templates, name and logo belong to us and are protected by copyright and trademark law. We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the app on Apple devices you own or control, as permitted by the App Store terms. The documents you produce with the templates are yours. Feedback you send us may be used without obligation to you.
10. Disclaimers
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available". To the fullest extent permitted by law we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy and non-infringement. We do not warrant that documents produced with TapBill comply with any law, that calculations suit your situation, or that the Service will be error-free or uninterrupted. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have as a consumer that cannot be limited by contract.
11. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, TapBill and its operator are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost profits, revenue, data or business opportunities, arising out of or related to the Service, even if advised of the possibility. Our total liability for all claims in any twelve-month period is limited to the amount you paid us for the Service in that period, or US$50, whichever is greater. Some jurisdictions do not allow these limitations, in which case they apply to the extent permitted.
12. Termination
You can stop using TapBill at any time and delete your account from the app (More → Help, privacy and restore → Delete account). We may suspend or end your access if you materially breach these terms, if we are required to by law, or if we discontinue the Service as described above. Sections 5, 6, 9, 10, 11, 14 and 15 survive termination.
13. Apple
The app is distributed through Apple's App Store, and Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement also applies. Apple is not a party to these terms, has no obligation to provide maintenance or support, and is not responsible for any claim relating to the app, including product liability, legal compliance and intellectual-property claims; Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce them against you. You confirm that you are not in a country subject to a U.S. government embargo and are not on any U.S. list of prohibited parties.
14. Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Israel, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, and the courts of Tel Aviv have exclusive jurisdiction, except that you may rely on mandatory consumer-protection law and courts of the country where you live. Before going to court, email us; most problems can be fixed in a day.
15. General
These terms and the Privacy Policy are the whole agreement between you and TapBill about the Service. If a part is found unenforceable the rest stays in force. Our not enforcing a term is not a waiver. You may not assign these terms; we may assign them to a successor of the TapBill business. We may update these terms; for material changes we will notify you in the app or by email at least 14 days before they take effect, and continuing to use the Service after that date means you accept them.
